STUDIO WORK
I work with three different age groups (ages 10-18) challenging students through choreography, technique, and improvisation in the contemporary dance lens.
"Survivor"
Survivor is performed by Seniors (12-18). The piece complements one another through solos, unison, and partnering sections. It explores the idea of fighting battles and needing each other to support each other's battles
"Survivor" by 2wei (i don't own the rights to this music)
Teen Class during rehearsal before competition.
Junior Class during rehearsal learning partnering section of their dance.
Senior Class and myself prior to competing on stage
"Glory"
"Glory" by Dermot Kennedy (i don't own the rights to this music)
Glory is performed by Teens (13-16). This piece depicts the journey of a soloist experiencing trauma without clarity and direction. The clarity and direction come from her guardian angels leaving her hopeful and guided by the end of the dance.
"Silhouette" by Aquilo (i don't own the rights to this music)
Silhouette is performed by Juniors (9-13). This video showcases half of the class due to pandemic precautions. Students explore contemporary movement for their first year and embody connecting and emoting as a large group.
High School (10th-12th grade)
During my clinical teaching internship, I worked with students from Trenton Central High School teaching jazz, ballet, modern/contemporary, improvisation, and choreographic skills.
"Jazz Holidance" performed by TCHS Dance 2 Students
During the annual Holiday performance, Dance II students performed a dance on film. Students crossed the discovery threshold by learning and creating choreography using concepts from Laban Movement Analysis. I edited the final film to create their first virtual performance.
"Make It To Christmas" by Alessia Cara (i don't own the rights to this music)
Dance I students learning about body connectivities in modern technique through visual supports.
Dance II students engaged in a ballet technique class.
